  2. Welcome to the NeXTSTEP Front End for Gnuplot, a general purpose
  3. graphing and plotting application capable of plotting mathematical
  4. expressions or points from a data file, in 2 or 3 dimensions.  This
  5. app is entirely self-contained and requires no prior installation or
  6. knowledge of Gnuplot.
  7.  
  8. This version supports more Gnuplot features than previous versions and
  9. fixes many bugs.  It is also based on Gnuplot 3.3, which is still in
  10. beta as of March 1993 but, in a 10th beta release, is very solid.  (As
  11. soon as Gnuplot 3.3 is officially released, I will update this app
  12. with the latest sources.)

  14. Gnuplot.app adds NeXTSTEP features to Gnuplot, taking advantage of
  15. services, drag-n-drop, standard font and print panels, and inspectors.
  16. None of the original gnuplot source was changed for this app (aside
  17. from minor changes like renaming main() and adding a custom terminal
  18. type), so the app can also be run from the command line just as you
  19. would run the original command-line Gnuplot -- there is no need to
  20. install two versions of Gnuplot.

  26. The file package should have unpacked into a folder called Gnuplot
  27. which contains the following:

  34. NeXTSTEP    -- The source for the app

  36. Original_3.3b10    -- Many of the files distributed with Gnuplot 3.3 are
  37.            necessary for building the NeXTSTEP app, but they
  38.            are included for completness.  Gnuplot
  39.            documentation and supporting files not pertaining
  40.            to this app are here as well.

  46.     The Gnuplot front end is provided in hope that it will be
  47. useful for something and with absolutely no warranty of any kind.
